libblkid-dev software package provides block device id library - headers and static libraries, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libblkid-dev
libblkid-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libblkid-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libblkid-dev *
You will get with libblkid-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
